Opentype-SVG no longer rendered correctly in Illustrator 2023

I have some Opentype-SVG fonts that render correctly in MacOS with Pages/Number/Keynote, MS Office, in Chrome, and LibreOffice (Mac/Linux).  That's several font rendering engines.

 In Illustrator / Photoshop 2023, however, they are rendered with incorrect proportions:

It is as if the SVGs were occupying the full-width of a glyph, ignoring the side-bearings.  In glyphs that are standard ligatures, the SVGs occupy only the width of a single character.  I have used Opentype-SVG fonts in past versions of Illustrator and this was not an issue.  Could this please be put through to the devs and have the regression fixed?
