Partial view of PDF in illustrator

Hi all, newbie question.....

I open this file in Acrobat with no issue - when I open in AI - I only get a partial view?

I have had this a couple of times in the past - not sure why it's happening & dont know what to call it to search for answers!

Any advice greatly appreciated.
