Question

Paste Issue - I have to hold Ctrl and tap C twice

Hi,

I'm having a couple of pasting issues in Illustrator CC, 2018. Please see below.

1. When I copy a text object which is set to a certain font using the Ctrl C keyboard shortcut and then Ctrl V that item back in the same document, Illustrator will paste it back in the default font (Myriad). I will also lose any formatting.

2. When I copy a text object that contains other vector graphics using the Ctrl C keyboard shortcut and then Ctrl V those items back in the same document, Illustrator will paste JUST the text in the default font and any of the vector graphics will not paste.

When I do either of the above options using the Edit ---->Copy function from the menu bar and then the Edit ----> Paste function, the paste works properly.

When I do either of the above options and click Ctrl C and then hit C an additional time (Ctrl C+C), the paste works fine.

Does anyone know how to fix this so I only have to hit Ctrl C once?

Thank!

John

Might try uninstalling Illustrator and reinstalling Illustrator. I had a friend with a similar issue and it fixed the problem.

This options will be the last thing I try. Thank you though.
