Pasting onto artboards

Hi guys,

I've been using this option for a while, (pasting in place on another artboard) how ever for some reason when I click the artboard I wish to paste to, (outlined black) its started to paste the art work directly on top on the artwork I've tried copying, instead of pasting to the chosen artboard.

also if i CMD + X and the CMD + option + shift + V to copy to all artboards, its pasting to the original artboard and then left of all the rest as you can see on the image below? Again any suggestions as to why please? your help would be really appreciated.

Just for the record I'm using the current Adobe CC 2018

Does it  also happen if you try it via Edit > Paste on All Artboards ?

    Maybe try resetting preferences.

How to set preferences in Illustrator

Reset all preferences to default settings

    • Do one of the following:

      • Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Illustrator. Your current settings are deleted.
      • Remove or rename the AIPrefs file (Windows) or Adobe Illustrator Prefs file (Mac OS). New preferences files are created the next time you start Illustrator.

Before doing Paste in Place make sure that the artboard on which you are trying to paste is active when you give that command.

    Thanks
