Pathfinder Divide Broken in 2021

10+ yrs using the software. I'm a power user, but I'm just trying to do a basic illustration by using pathfinder: divide to turn some line work into some clean shapes. the GIF in the attachments show how this behaves in 2021 (disappointly poor) and how it works in 2020 and older version (Correctly).

This needs a fix.

Did you already try a computer reboot?

Did you reset the preferences when updating?

iMac Pro OS Cataline 10.15.7.
Tried comp reboot, no luck.
Will try a preferences reset and get back to you.
