Paths are neither selectable nor completely visible.

I opened my illustrator file today only to see one of the few shapes I made still on a canvas, so I still don't know how that happened. But, as I scrolled throughout the stage with my mouse, I did happen to find one of my shapes still there, just hidden and unselectable. The path is only highlighted when I scroll my selector over it. When I try to click on it, nothing happens. I've tried unlocking all objects, too, and nothing happens. What is going on?
