Pattern Brush Crashing Illustrator

I have not been able to change the pattern brush ends if i do it crashes

I'm having the same issue. I'm using Illustrator 28.5 on a M1 MacBook Pro under macOS 14.4.1

0. Launch Illustrator.

1. Create a new document from the Basic RGB template.

2. Create a rectangle with a solid black fill and no stroke.

3. Drag and drop it onto the list of the brushes in the "Brushes" toolwindow.

4. In the dialog "New Brush", select the option "Pattern Brush" and press OK.

5. In the dialog "Pattern Brush Options", click on the drop-down for the top-left corner (the first one from the left in the row).

6. Select the option "None" in the drop-down list (selecting any option will have the same effect).

Right after the selection is made, Illustrator crashes. This happens 100% of the time.

Which template exactly would that be?

Can you please select that rectangle and open Window > Appearance and post a screenshot?

It happens when I go to change how corner tiles are generated. Ive been sending crash reports for months on several computers and nothing has been done about this. For an app that cost $660 a year. The fact that nothing has been done for months over this is wild to me. Ill be back here shortly to see if my reply had been removed.

WHich system?

What is the nature of your brush? A lot of points and path and transparency?
