Question

PDF export without color conversion converts RGB images to CMYK

Following Adobe's latest update to Illustrator, the option to create a PDF containing both RGB images and CMYK vector/text elements is no longer available. Currently, files can only be saved as either RGB or CMYK. Can you help overcome this regression?

Linked images should retain their color mode when the PDF is saved without color conversion.

There was a problem with that, which should be solved with the latest update to 29.4

The issue started only after upgrading to Illustrator 29.4 :(.  that's weird. Maybe there is something else we should do to re-active the option to keep RGB and CMYK color spaces.

Exactly what are you doing step by step and exactly how do you determine that your PDF is either one or the other?
