Pen tool add anchor wile hovering over path no longer working

While using the pen tool I have always been able to add an anchor point to a drawn path without having to switch from the pen tool simply by hovering the cursor over the path at the point where I want to add an achor. The symbol to add an achor point would automattically show when I hovered over the existing path and I could just click and add a new anchor, however ever since a couple of days ago, this function appears to no longer work. Has this been changed or eddited in a recent updat that I havent noticed?

This is the same for removing an achor point aswell, normall i can just hover over the point and it would automatically alow me to remove the point without having to change from the pen tool.
