i made a shape using the pen tool then i used watercolor brushes to fill/color it in but the strokes are outside of the shape as well... is there a way to hide/cut what is outside of the shape and only show the color that fits in the designated shape?

    Hi Savannah,

As Michele suggested, you can use Clipping mask around your shape to hide the unwanted parts of your artwork. Here is another tutorial, which might help you with watercolor brushes: Create Watercolor Texture Brushes in Adobe Illustrator - YouTube.

Sounds like you might want to use a clipping mask.
