Performance issues and lag in Illustrator on macOS

Based on my own experience and the many many recent posts, it seems they’ve almost definitely broken some fundamental aspect of Illustrator and don’t want to draw attention to it (tho see recent announcement RE copy & paste...). It’s frankly insulting to see Adobe reps & “community experts” continue to just paste the link on how to optimize.

In parallel, two diagnostic tests will help isolate the cause:

Run Illustrator in Safe Mode

Launch Illustrator under a different administrator account
