Performance problems in Illustrator

Hey, for the past few days Illustrator has been working terribly slowly, it takes a long time to open, I have to wait for the "hand" to appear to move the document, etc. Copying files to PS also takes longer :-{

If the problem persists, kindly confirm the version of the OS/Illustrator installed and if this happens when working on a specific file/file from a specific folder or using a specific workflow, so I can better assist you.
