PHOTO/ IMAGES doesnt shown when i place them

Dear community please help me!!!!

I have problem when i try to place/ open photos/images to a new project on illustrator.. its happened to me before when i have the trial app in my pc... i search in google to solve this problem and a website show me which settings to change in my pc... i change the settings and it works, when the trial finished i reset my settings and now i can't find that link..

is someone knows which settings exactly do i need to change??

****the photo its not from photoshop, its JPG.. but in photoshop its works****

Hey, thank you for the respond..

So i opened the Illustrator app in my pc (windows on Dell), as you see its a normal workplace on A4 project.

i chosen on "File">"place"> chosen the picture i want (i tried any picture and its do the same thing)

i tried 3 actions (double click / place / and with the button picked the picture on the project)

the third action shows me A circle with a slash in the middle like error or something...

***its improtant to say that i tried also put a picture with "file"> "open" and its do the same thing....

Is the image listed in the Links panel?

Does Illustrator have permission to access files on your computer?
