photo to image trace to lineart?

just trying a trial of illustator managed to trace a photo, all i would like is to get that traced shape as basic lineart?, quick help would be appreciated cheers.

or another simple way of creating lineart from the photo.

    Yes it won't be too hard since it's all geometric shapes, but more importantly the result would be million times better than any Live Trace attempts

    You'll need to push the cyan lines and purples to shadows in Ps first.

    Use the curves adjustment layer and create a z-curve.

    This will help if you've not done it before. Using the Curves adjustment in Photoshop

    Add a hue/saturation adjustment layer and remove all the color by moving the saturation slider all the way to the left.

    Now that you've got the contrast you need for a successful trace, place it in Ai and apply a live trace.

    to be honest im not fussed, on how etc, just can the image be converted to simple lineart in some form? thats all i need and its done.

    What have you tried and what hasn't worked? What does your original photo look like?

    It may be completely unsuitable for tracing to line art. Generally, the only images you can reliably trace to line art are high-detail scans of existing line art.
