Pie Chart Problem

Pie chart only works in greyscale which is not very usable.

If I switch it to RGB or CMYK and apply data to it all sections are are made with foreground color, effectively making a solid circle. This seems like a bug. I can't find information on anybody else having this problem.

I FIGURED IT OUT. click on the slice with the direct selection tool. click the fill layer. when the window with the swatches opens, in that window at the bottom there is an option called "swatch options" open this, then make sure the color mode is set to CMYK for print of RGB

Im having the same issue, i have my document set up exactly as adobe brand tutorial on youtube suggests and it is not working. When I select the segment of the graph and change the color, the color is changing in the editor window, but when i click "ok" to save the changes they do not save and the graph is greyscale

Quite honestly, I can't wait for the day Adobe goes out of business. The chart functionality is so terrible that it makes me want to set my computer on fire.

And which vector app would you then like to use that has a chart function at all?

I just wish it would assign colors initially instead of greyscale. When you are making a chart with a lot of sections, it can be a pain to figure out which shade of grey corresponds to which item. I realize now the solution is to start at black and go around clockwise in order until you see black again. I was tired when I posted this - and frustrated.

Select single parts of the chart with direct selection tool and then apply color to them.

How is your data structured? What version of AI? you need to provide more info. More often than not these issues come down to using the data wrongly and AI not being able to make sense, so before calling it a bug it may be worth checking these things.
