Pixelated JPGS from Illustrator

What is the best way to save/export vector illustrator files so they don't look pixelated on screen?
For example, company logo for email signature. HELP!

JPEG is a pixel based file format.

And when images need to be small, there aren't enough pixels in them to show your design. You have to respect that while designing. Increase text size. Leave out details.

It also may help to export at 2x with export for screens. Most computer and mobile screen have a high resolution, exporting at 72 ppi (1x) will look pixelated.

The best thing to do is pick a specific target pixel image size and tailor the vector graphics to line up with that grid. It's impossible to make everything in a vector graphics image to line up with the grid, but baselines of letters and cap heights of letters can be sized to align to the pixel grid. Geometric objects can be positioned where important parts align to the pixel grid. The approach sounds very picky, but can pay off in resolution challenged formats, like imagery for a LED sign or a small graphic in an email signature.
