place DXF instead of embedding it

Hello, When importing a dxf file in Ai the file is embedded without no choice.It could be valuable to import it and keeping the link in order to allows update if the DXF changes... Many thanks

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to inform you that it is currently not possible to place DXF files in Adobe Illustrator and maintain a live link to update the file when changes are made. However, you can post this as a feature request on Adobe's UserVoice platform, where other users can upvote it, and it may be considered for future updates to the software.
