Placing images at 100%

Hello folks, I'm trying to figure out how to import an image and get it to be 100% size. I have a .png that is 1600 x 900. When I use File > Place, the image imports, but at 53% or so. The artboard is the correct size (1600 x 900), but my image is shrunk to 960 x 540.

Thanks!

Clay,

Or, within the document you can just select the image, then in the Transform palette add /0.6 in the W box and press Ctrl/Cmd+Enter to scale up to fit the Artboard.

Thank you, Monika and Jacob!

I tried both of your suggestions and they worked. I was using Photoshop to create the image, and I had to google and experiment quite a bit to get PS to let me change the ppi without resizing the  pixel dimensions. But then it worked just fine.

Jacob, I also tried your method and that works too, except I manually entered the values I wanted. I like your idea to multiply by a scaling factor like that.

Since both ideas worked, I'll mark Monika as the answer since I can't vote for both, and she replied first

Thanks again to both of you!

For my part you are welcome, Clay.

In this nice and friendly forum there will often be multiple suggestions that work. One of the advantages is that both the asker and everyone else reading the thread are offered different ways, which may even best suit different cases; sometimes one solution is the most obvious one for the case in question, but the other(s) can prove especially useful for different requirements in the future
