Question

Placing images in C.C. AI with a Wacom tablet

I do a lot of work that requires placing images in illustrator files. Prior versions of illustrator would just "dump" the image in illustrator when using the File>Place command. What seems to be a new "feature" of AI is that you need to click in the AI file to unload the cursor. I imagine this isn't a problem for mouse users, but for Wacom (older Intuos) users, the sensitivity of the stylus somehow interferes and the image is placed as a tiny dot (I'm assuming that's what happens). I've done a lot of searching  and haven't really come up with a solution or even seen this mentioned anywhere. Is there a way to turn off this feature so that you don't need to click on the page to actually place the image? It's incredibly frustrating to have this happen over and over when you're trying to place a file and really interrupts workflow. Any other workarounds?

Thanks!

I occasionly run into this same problem with my tablet. I don’t know how to auto dump the images, but if you click drag instead of single click, it will place the image to the size you drag out.
