Please help create a symbol

I'm having a hard time creating the backward 3 symbol with a pen in Illustrator. It's not coming out the way I want. Is this because I'm a beginner or is there something else going on? Can anyone help me make this symbol?

Can you show what you have so far and go into a bit more detail about exactly where you're getting stuck?

Currently I'm working on a project where I've to trace many symbols and provide its source file. One of the symbols is backwards 3 which looks like a rotated heart. I am unable to curve it's corners. that's where I'm stuck. Earlier, I didn't know about this symbol but then I came across a blog post about

backwards 3 (link removed by moderator) and now I fully understand that what the symbol is all about. BUT I'M STUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MAKE IT USING PEN IN ILLUSTRATOR!

Why not type a 3 and then flip it?

If you absolutely need to draw it, then it really would help if you could show what you have tried so far.
