Thanks for reaching out. In addition to Monika's suggestion, try updating to Illsuatrtor 2023 and opening files in it.

You can try and open it ion Acrobat. Does that work? THen you could create a new file and place that file in it. Embed. Won't be fully editable, but at least some of it saved.

And please: make regular baclkups. Save different versions.
