png file color changing in illustrator

Whenever I open the illustrator file that has .png files, the color turns complete off. So I have to re-link all the images to fix the issue.. But then once I close the file and open it again later, the same issue repeats. Any idea what's causing this? and how to fix?

It's very strange since I did not change the way I save png files or how to import them to illustrator, and never had this issue in my whole life till very recent.
