PNG is not moving

Hi, I’m looking for some guidance. I’ve uploaded a PNG into Adobe Illustrator (version 2025), and while the file is unlocked and not inside a clipping mask, I’m unable to move it freely by clicking directly on the image. I can only move it if I click on the bounding box.

I’d really appreciate any help or insight into why this is happening and how to resolve it. Thank you in advance!

Mmm, that triggers it for me.

Which version of Illustrator do you use? I use 29.5.1

Maybe restart you machine? And if that does not work, reset your preferences?

Can you Uncheck in Preferences "Object Selection by Path Only"?

Hi, thank you so much for helping, much appreciated.  I've had a look at my Selection & Anchor Display, the "Object Selection by Path Only" is already unchecked.
