Polar Grid Dartboard - scale circle

There are two videos on how to create a dartboard. I was able to successfully create it on a previous computer. when I installed AI on the new computer. it does not work as before.

I used the shaper tool to delete a part of the grid. then I merged shaper group and expand. After that I am not able to select just the cirlce in scale it as I did before.

Please advise.

Please click on the triangle to the left of the layer name to open it and if it is a group, then please click again.

i played around with live paint release, stil lnot sure how it happened, but got it to work. thanks.

After expanding the Shaper group there might not be a circle anymore.

What happens instead when you try?

Can you show the objects you have selected and visible in the layers panel?

when I click on the circle I want to scale, it selects the entire object.

I am not sure about the other part, but I attached a picture.
