Preferences Overridden When Editing Assets Via Creative Cloud Libraries

Hello all,

When I open an Illustrator asset that I have stored in my Creative Cloud library, the Illustrator preferences are different to those set when the file was created. Is there any way that I can fix this?

For example, if I edit a library asset via illustrator, or by clicking the edit link in InDesign, the file automatically:

  • Has 'Snap to Pixel' turned on
  • Is set in pixels - I mainly work in millimetres
  • Brings in the default colour pallettes

Is there any way I can change this? I'm doing a lot of double handling.

Thank you!

Snap to pixel as well as the unit are indeed document based settings. And also the color palettes are as well.

To get the colors, you could save them as libraries and then have them open persistent.

If those items are screen design elements, then pixels are correct.

I cannot reproduce that behaviour you describe.

Could you please advise me on how to change the document based settings?

I would have imagined that libraries match the settings from the export site but that is not the case here.

Thank you.

For me it just worked that way.

The document settings are set up when you create the document. So if it is a CMYK document, then it should just work.

Is your Creative Cloud app up to date?
