Preparing PDFs for Print: Comprehensive Tutorial

Hello, I'm looking for a comprehensive tutorial for saving PDFs to send to printers/various prublications. From checking your file, outlining fonts, are embedded photos necessary - if so how to save, etc. as well as recommended PDF version (X-1a).

don't outline fonts unless the print service can give you a valid reason for it. It has issues in production and it can causes errors in the text.

As for the color profiles and PDF joboptions: discuss with the print service. They need to tell you that. It depends on their processes and machines and equipment.

The process starts when creating the file. So researching thi shortly before printing might be too late.
