Question

pressing the windows key doesn't show the start menu when illustrator is running

I'm new to illustrator and already have a lot to do with the steep learning curve. I don't need other issues like the misbehavior I'm experiencing. Thanks in advance for your understanding and not perfect English.

In this post I report the following problem.

By chance it happens that after starting Illustrator, pressing the Windows key does not produce the expected result. If I close Illustrator the Win key starts working again.

System in use:

Clean install done Sunday March 5th

Win 10 LTSC 2021
Ryzen 2700x
32GB
Solid state drives
NVIDIA 1030

Is the 1030 sufficient or do you recommend replacing it? If yes, with what?

Thanks

I just checked and it's working fine for me.
The only thing that would spring to mind right now, is that the Win key is assigned to a shortcut of some kind in illustrator and prevents it from functionning as it should.

if you go to edit> keyboard shortcuts

if you're just starting out and never knowlingly made any attempts at tweaking your shortcuts, then choose "illustrator defaults" in the top dropdown menu and click OK.

I checked to be careful, but did not customize the shortcuts.

I add further details.

After pressing the Win key i see that the start menu "tries" to show itself, but only the start menu background appears, and then disappears.

I can access the start menu using the dedicated icon.

Hello @Arturo266834390dbm,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind trying to run Illustrator after rebooting your computer in Safe Mode (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234) or under a different Administrator account (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-a-local-user-or-administrator-account-in-windows-20de74e0-ac7f-3502-a866-32915af2a34d) and checking if it helps?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav
