Hi, recenty had an issue, I created a Illustrator document and exported as PDF for print with print marks. When a open this file with Acrobat it shows me these print marks, but when I re-open the PDF with AI the marks are gone. Ideally I would like that the print marks were in the document so I can move them to a dedicated layer. ¿Any solutions?

Thank you

Correct answer Ton Frederiks

The print marks are in the PDF part of the Illustrator file.

When you open the file you will open the Illustrator part when Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities was checked.

You can save the file as PDF with All Printers marks checked, and uncheck the Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities, you will see the print marks when opening the pdf, but then you will lose most of the Illustrator options to edit the file.

You cannot have both.

they will not disapeared when re-open the PDF.

When placing/opening/importing the document you need to select the correct box. The media box should include all the marks.

Sorry, but I don't see any options or checkboxes in File > Open. ¿How can I open/import the pdf with the media box that you are talking about?

In your case it seems to be a PDF with "Illustrator editing functions". See Ton's answer.
