Question

Printing outer glow effect

I'm having a problem printing a PDF with images and text that have an outer glow effect on them. I'm trying to go for a robotic/matrix feel with green text with a glow and a black background.  It looks fine when I save the PDF from Illustrator but when I print it a darker black background in a box is showing up around the text and images that have the glow effect on them.  How can I fix this?

If printing straight out of Illustrator as Bill suggests, change this setting if using any spots.

Printing from a pdf that contains transparency can be a problem with low end printers. The version of pdf can also be a factor. Try making your pdf with the standard X-4:2010 and a compatibility of Acrobat 8 (pdf 1.7) and see if that helps any. Also see what happens when it is printed straight out of Illustrator.
