Problem with patterns

Hi everyone. Some days ago, whenever I wanted to move a pattern independently from the object it was in, I just pressed the [^` key and with the arrows I could move the pattern without moving the object. Now, when I try to do the same, the pattern moves along with the object, and not independently as before. I tried in the Transform tab to select just the option "transform pattern only", but even selected, when I move it, it moves both the pattern and the object. Which is the problem here? Thanks.

By  [^  do you mean Shift? Because Shift + `   (aka ~ Tilde) still works for me to move only the pattern, not the object. I just checked.

Which version, and what operating system? You might need to reset Preferences if this does not work for you.

    I have updated to today's patch: 21.0.2

Thanks very much! It worked perfectly.

    Hi,

Shouldn't it be the ~ (Tilde) key on your keyboard? You can then just move (and mouse drag) the object.

Another problem could be that you've changed the keyboard language (when you work on Windows)?

I heard about the tilde key, but I dont have it in my keyboard and could not find it either.

it depends on your keyboard language. on mine it's not the tilde either.
