Problem with width tool(mac)

Hi, 

whenever I click with width tool I see this icon(circle with the line). I can't also change "variable width profile". My path is selected and layer is unclocked. 
When I go to the other document I don"t have that problem so it's just a issue with this document. 
Please Help
