¡Ayuda!

Hello again,
I’d like to know if maybe someone has managed to find a solution to this problem. It’s still happening with about 90% of the files I work on. I’m attaching another screenshot. This really worries me, as it’s the first time in 16 years of working with Illustrator that this has happened. What concerns me the most is that at some point I might fail to notice a misaligned or misplaced element, which could lead to significant financial losses during the printing process at the various companies I work with.
Please, help!

Thanks for sharing that info with me. It seems to me that we have to wait until the technical support team fixes this bug.

Hi @2890062 Pavez,

Thanks for sharing the details and screenshots. Could you please confirm the exact version of Illustrator and operating system you're working on? Let me know if this happens only with a specific file or with all your projects. Try saving the original file as a copy with PDF compatibility enabled and then import it again to check if the alignment remains correct. If the issue persists, please share a short screen recording of your workflow along with the affected file, so I can review it.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek

Hello, thank you for your response.

I’ve already done everything you suggested, but the issue still persists. The version I’m using of illustrator is 29.8.2. on a PC whit Windows 11 Pro.

This happens with every file I import. The only way it works is by creating a new artboard, copying and pasting, and then saving again (it didn’t use to work like this, and clearly it shouldn’t). What worries me is that with more complex projects that have multiple layers, I might make a mistake.

In addition to this, when I’m working on a file, I get a “complex visualization” error and it only lets me work in Outline mode. In the short video I’m sending, you can also see how it freezes when I try to use the import option. It’s been behaving like this since the last update.

Please help me to resolve this issue. Thank you.

Hi @FlavioPavez,

Thanks a lot for sharing the recording. I checked it, and the reason you're seeing a difference when importing is that the source file and the new file have different artboard sizes. When the artboard dimensions don't match, Illustrator repositions the artwork relative to the new artboard, which makes it appear as if the elements have shifted or moved out of place.

To fix this, please create a new file with the same artboard size as the original before pasting or importing the artwork. That should help keep everything aligned as expected.

Let me know if this works.

Abhishek
