Problems Importing .dxf files from Fusion 360?

I am importing .dxf files into Illustrator 2020. The files are created in Fusion 360, but when I try to open them in Illustrator I get the message "the file is an unkown format and cannot be opened". The same thing happens with .dwg files. Is there an import setting that can change this? I'm new to illustrator and dont seem to find an easy answer.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Does it happen with some specific DXF files or all? Are these files saved on a network drive? Would it be possible for you to share some sample files?
