problems with excel incompatibility
Hi. I used the older CS6 version for a very long time to import (cut and paste) graphs directly from excel into illustrator. After some modifications (some in excel and some in illustrator), I could generate a graph that was publication ready (for my field). Now that I have upgraded my computer and use adobe illustrator 2019 I can no longer import graphs readily from excel. Arial font from excel (used in most publications in my field) are not recognized as text in illustrator necessitating changing fonts to another font recognized by illustrator and then changing it back again to arial. Not to get too lost in the details, but some features get lost in this process and the 'text' isn't quite treated the same as text. I am looking for a work around or substitute.
I tried to graph in illustrator. Making a graph is easy enough but the graphing options do not allow for error bars, they have to be manually added. This is not acceptable. Some update of the graphing app to allow for error bars would make this graphing tool useful!
