Problems with Illustrator constantly crashing & slow saves on macOS

Constant crashing and exceptionally slow saves (apparently I should off PDF preview, but that was not an issue in previous versions) on a Mac in Illustrator 26.

A support agent deleted all my preferences and reinstalled illustrator, but issue continued.

Installed latest MacOS (26.3.1) but slow saves continue. It’s been saving the entire time I’ve been writing this post.

Can you try to turn off Preferences > File Handling > Save in Background?

Thanks for responding! I should have mentioned that was one of the things the agent did, and unfortunately it hasn’t helped. Turning off PDF preview sped things up, but I find the PDF previews incredibly helpful, so it’s not really a solution for me.

It was worth trying. Sometimes also saving local in a non cloud connected folder helps.
