Problems with using the brush tool with my stylus

I have been having problems with working on illustrator with the brush tools or any of the other drawing tools. I have a surface pro and when I use my finger a line shows up but not with my stylus. The stylus I have the one that was recommended most for the surface. I also went over to photoshop to see if it would work and my stylus works on photoshop just fine. Does anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

Thank you for reaching out, and I'm sorry for the trouble. Would you mind telling us the make and model of the stylus and the version of Illustrator? Please also try reinstalling and updating the stylus driver.
