Properties tab empty

The properties tab (and layers tab) emptied suddenly and I can't get them back. I've been able close and re-open and fiddle them back before, but not this time.

When I switch to the Essentials Classic workspace, they're there and fully loaded.

Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it?

Have you tried resetting the current work space? That can be found under the Window menu>Workspace>Reset (work space name).
