PSD Export Error 2393

Version: 27.8.1 (64 bit), Windows

OS: Windows 10

Since upgrading to 27.8.0, I have no longer been able to export layered PSDs from Illustrator. Unfortunately, downgrading versions doesn't seem to repair this, so it may be an error with Bridge or Photoshop or something deeper in CC. This happens regardless of the source and colourspace, and I've been having to deal with workarounds for a month. The only clue is that the export shows Error 2393, which support searching also doesn't reveal. Any advice? Flattened PSDs work but using a third party export script doesn't. Regardless of the export method, Illustrator delivers the error, locks up, and needs to be force quit.

Hello @janm20020603,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind copying all elements/layers from this file to a new one and then saving/exporting it as a PSD to check if it helps? Also, try saving to a different location and sharing your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

I tried at 450dpi on mac 27.8.1 and worked.

Are your layer names alphanumeric, or do you have for example colon or backslashes?

Does this happen on all files or just this one? try creating another simple file, if that works copy the artwork and paste into this new document.

Happens on all files.

Pulled out my Macbook running 27.3.1 and had a successful export. Downgrading to this version on Windows does not resolve the problem, and if I had to guess, it started happening at the same time as the InDesign export to PDF with ZIP compression bugs started popping up as well.

Layer names are a mixture of roman and Japanese characters. Changing layer names to remove punctuation and/or foreign characters does not fix things. Going with an all-roman or all-CJK layer set does not help.

This sounds like a local issue to your win computer then, and thanks for info on InDesign PDF.

Do you have a printer connected to the win computer? Try selecting a different printer or deleting and creating a new fresh one. The printer 100% make a difference when making PDFs fail, so might be conencetd to layered PSDs exports.

Hello @jonathonc16382349,

We understand how frustrating it can be to encounter technical issues while exporting from Illustrator. Would you mind trying to change the export resolution to 72 PPI and checking if it helps? If the problem persists, kindly share a sample file with linked documents (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/share-your-files-in-6-simple-steps/td-p/12967531), so we can check it on our end. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav
