Question

question about Units

Hello,

In Illustrator I have set the Preferences/Units on mm (millimeters). But each time I open Illustrator, if I go again in preference/units, I see that Illustrator is in pixels instead of millimeters.

So, Illustrator does not remembers the units in preference. Why ?

Illustrator only uses the Preferences unit setting for documents that have no units.

If you open an image or a pdf the units setting is used.

But everytime you open a document or preset that has units, these are used and overrule the Preferences settings.

So each time I create a new document, I am obliged to go to "preference/unit" and choose mm (millimeters) ? Or is it a way to set definitively the unit to millimeters ?

You have to set that up in the New document dialog box.

And if you notice that you have to change it a lot, make a new document preset that has all the necessary settings.
