Question

Quitting / Crashing when creating a new folder

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with saving. When I have created a new logo and then want to save it, it works as usual. If I need a new folder and then create it during the saving process, Illustrator hangs or aborts and then closes. If I'm lucky, the new file will still be there when I open it again.
Does anyone else experience this or what can be done about it? Reusing an older version has not helped. The same error happened here.

Kind regards
flunny

Hello @Alex31684028nexv,

Thanks for sharing the screen recording. Would you mind trying to run Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows) and checking if it helps? Also, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows) and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

This has been happening to me as well. Looking for a fix - happens in all Adobe apps I use (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Premiere). All apps are current and up to date, as is my OS (Windows 11) and the driver for my graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER).

Hello @Katang123,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Could you share more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator installed, and if this happens when running Illustrator after rebooting your computer in Safe Mode (Windows) as well, so we can better assist you?

Also, please submit the crash report using your Adobe email address and share it here for quick tracking. The steps are shared here: (https://adobe.ly/4mkdtAO).

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello @flunny,

Would you mind confirming the version of the OS/Illustrator, if this happens when working in a specific folder location, and a small screen recording of the problem (if possible) so I can better assist you?

Also, try running Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
