Radius widgets not showing.

I am currently doing the "create a logo" tutorial for beginner Illustrator CC users.  The tutorial mentions "drag the radius widget" etc. when resizing shapes.  These radius widgets are not showing for me when I try to follow the tutorial.  Can anyone advise why these widgets do not appear for me?
