Rainbow Spinning Wheel in Illustrator 2021 HELP!

Question

So unfortunately I didn't save my work.

While I was adjusting stuff with the pentooling on my macbook pro, then the rainbow wheel came up over my arrow, froze anything I can click off illustrator but I can move the arrow. I cant even minimize the page. Is there any way I fix this without losing my saved work???

I need options on how I can do this! I cant even see my desktop since the page is open 😞

My laptop is kind of heating up I think from it so I'm not sure what to do!!

Sometimes Illustrator might hang because something else in the background doesn't work (like connecting to a fileserver). But that should vanish as soon as the background task is either done or canceled. So if it's not gone after a couple of minutes, then that's that.
