Question

Rasterized effects and text after reopening files

I'm having an issue in Illustrator: After pasting some lighting effects from another vector file that I downloaded into a file where I'm working on a design, when I close this file and reopen it, the lighting effect (with different blending modes, gradients, masks, etc.) appears as a rasterized image at 300 dpi, and I can't recover the editable vectors. The same thing happens to me with text effects, when I reopen the files, the layers appear separated and the text with the effect is no longer editable...

Could you help me find the possible reason for this? It's causing me a lot of problems and it's been happening to me with several versions of the program...  =(

The work files: are they old files from your archive?

When opening old files, always "Save as" first to ge them into the new version.

Then you have a more severe issue with files not getting saved correctly.

CHeck your drives.

Only save to the ointernal darddrive, not to a server on a network.

Turn off "Save in background" in the preferences

Always save as AI.

Always use "Save as" - particularly on downloaded files, because they are often in Illustrator 10 format.
