Hi all,

Actually i want to create one custom plugin for the adobe illustrator where i can create my own property of the selected item (exp : path item, text frames, or placed images). 

exp:

textFrame.location = someValue.

what i want

textFrame.myProperty = someValue.

some thing i want to write so i can able to create "myProperty".

any one have any idea or did similar kind of stuff ?

Your question seems to be about Illustrator, rather than InDesign, so I've moved it to the Illustrator forum.

You should provide more details, though. Are you developing a plugin or writing a script, for example? What version of Illustrator and what OS?

Hi Peter,

Currently I am working with AI -CS6 and want to write a plug-in by which a can associate my own property with the selected item in adobe illustrator design surface.

Examples if I selected Textframe  or RasterItem or PlacedIteam or Rectangle or any other items on the ai design surface for that I can set my property value

Like as we can set the background color for all the above properties.

plugin - can be like a property window where property Name and Property Value to TextBox may be there where i can fill the values.

I'm afraid I can't help you with developer questions, but I've move the thread again into the Illustrator SDK forum where people who can should see it.
