Hi @resourceful_Lullaby0ace, thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry you’ve been dealing with this for some time.

Could you please confirm your exact macOS version and clarify what happens when you try to relink an image? For example, does clicking Relink do nothing, does Finder fail to open, or can you select the replacement image but Illustrator doesn’t update it?

Also, please update Illustrator to the latest available version, 30.8, through the Creative Cloud desktop app and check whether the issue still occurs.

Since you’ve already reset preferences, please create a new Illustrator document locally, place a local JPG/PNG as a linked file, and then try Window > Links > Relink with another local image. You can refer to the documented workflow here: Relink, replace, or update linked files.

Please also let us know whether the Illustrator document and linked images are stored on your internal drive, an external/network drive, or a cloud-synced location such as iCloud or Dropbox.

If possible, please also share a short screen recording showing the Relink workflow and what happens when it fails.

    Looking forward to hearing back.

    Abhishek
