Recover lost ai. file

I saved my ai file several times.  I restarted my computer and i opened the file and it was back at the beginning of the design.  I had saved atleast 3 times after the version I am able to open.  The file is not showing up on my computer and I am confused to where it went. Is there anyway to recover this file or do I have to re do the work already done?

    Which version?

    Which system?

    Exactly where do you save the file?

    What is the history of the file? A new file? Or is it coming from an older version?

    Please be exact.

    That issue has been reported before, but I am afraid it is still unsolved and uninitelligible.

    I hope that one of our Adobe staff friends will see this, soon.

    It is always advisable to save files to different places/names so there is something (externally from the current file/folder) to fall back on.
