Remove hollow spaces from the offset path effect

Hello Everyone. Is there any way I can remove the hollow spaces between nearby objects when applying the offset path Effect? I had it working on other objects that are touching but not in this case, where the objects are a little farther from each other. Is there any way I can do this without having to expand anything?
