Remove Items From Export for Screens Panel?

For the love of god, how is this done?

I can select/deselect items in the panel, but I can't figure out how to remove items.

What's the secret?

Unfortunately, no, "clear selection" simply de-selects items from being exported.

I want to remove/delete items from this panel.

Then open the Asset Export panel instead.

Window > Asset Export

Click on the item and then on the trash can.

In that case it's the button "Clear selection"

Only the items with a checkmark will get exported.
