Hey all,

New to the forums here. Long time Adobe user. Mostly Ps and AE so when it comes to Ai i still struggle. Anyway, trying to subtract a stroke from an object behind and then delete the stroke. Basically turn the stroke transparent thru the circle. (The white transparent) See here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/s0hv0f691ds3ag7/TRW_Logo1_OneColor_True_NoExtrusiuon.ai?dl=0

Thanks in advance!

J

Can you post a screenshot of what did not work?

The other possibility would be to select your artwork and then Object > Expand appearance.

After that you would need to use the layers panel to inspect the artwork and release clipping masks and groups.

Then use the pathfinder Subtract.

How editable do you want this to be?

You could apply an opacity of 0% to just the stroke.

Then select the complete artwork and group it

Open the transparency panel, Show options and set a checkmark in "Knockout group"

This would be completely editable: text, fonts, stroke width, everything.

Edit: Will edit your file for this. Looks a little more complicated
