Removing items from customised toolbar?

If I have created my own customised toolbar – how can I remove an item?

Thanks Monika: that has worked but it doesn't seem to work when there are multiple items stacked together,

You just have to be very fast with clicking and dragging immediately out of the toolbar

No. I tried that.

I am obviously doing something wrong, but simply dragging it out doesn't work for me.

You need to first click on the 3 dots in the bottom of the toolbar. Then you can drag.
